Our Story
In 1930, two preachers came across the mountain from Valley Missionary Baptist Church and held revival services in the Rush Fork Schoolhouse. The gospel was preached. People were saved, baptized, and then joined together as a covenant community to follow Jesus. Eventually, a church building was erected near the center fork of the Little Mazarn and that’s how Center Fork Baptist Church got her name. Today, almost 100 years later, we have redesigned our logo not only as a nod to our history but also to illustrate our commitment to Jesus Christ and His gospel. The gospel or good news about Jesus Christ is the center of Center Fork. There have been a lot of changes since 1930. But some things remain the same. This church born right here in our community speaks to us even today. The echoes of their voices singing, the lone voice of a bible preacher proclaiming the word, the splash of a baptism and the amen of a congregation. That legacy is ours to carry forward. Come and follow Jesus with us! Let’s build a church together. Jesus has made His promises. Now, let’s keep ours. For His glory. For our good. And for the good of those who need Jesus and this church down here by the fork.
